The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) is seeking a part-time public relations intern for fall 2026 and potentially spring 2027.

About CCASA: The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) is the leading voice for sexual violence survivors and the professionals who serve them in Colorado. Started by Colorado’s rape crisis centers in 1984, CCASA changes laws, improves institutional prevention and response, and gives survivors more empowered options for justice and healing. Ultimately, CCASA’s advocacy alongside its more than 100 members prevents harm, promotes healing, and keeps survivors’ lived experiences at the center. To learn more about CCASA, please visit ccasa.org.

About our team: CCASA is made up of a small, supportive, trauma-informed, and highly effective team of folks who represent a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences, both within and beyond the anti-sexual violence movement. Our interns are key players in the work we do, and we encourage them to actively pursue projects and experiences at CCASA that will advance their personal and professional goals.

About the internship: The Public Relations Internship at CCASA offers experience with communications, media relations, and fundraising projects. The candidate selected for this position will work directly with CCASA’s Director of Public Relations and collaborate with other members of the CCASA team.

  • This start date, weekly schedule, and duration of this internship are flexible, but preference will be given to candidates who can start on or before September 1 and continue through May 2027.
  • CCASA is a remote workplace, and there will be ample (optional) opportunities for interns to help staff in-person legislative hearings and other events in the spring of 2027.
  • Currently, CCASA does not have funding to pay interns, so this is an ideal position for students whose programs of study require field experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Director of Public Relations with drafting, designing, editing, and posting content for social media
  • Support back-end management and maintenance of CCASA’s CRM, donor management system, and websites
  • Assist Director of Public Relations with drafting press releases, maintaining a list of media contacts, and tracking CCASA press coverage
  • Create drafts of graphic design assets in Canva
  • Help staff legislative hearings and in-person events hosted by CCASA
  • Respond to member requests for public relations information
  • Carry out some administrative tasks
  • Assist CCASA staff with other projects as needed

Application instructions: To apply, please send your resume, a brief description of why you would be a good fit for this role and CCASA’s team, your general career goals, and your general availability for the internship (including ideal start and end dates and preferred weekday schedule) to communications@ccasa.org.

Application deadline: Preference will be given to applications received by August 3, 2026 at 5pmMDT.
