Restorative & Transformative Justice Projects

CCASA Restorative and Transformative Justice Project

The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault is excited to continue to grow our projects focused on supporting communities in Colorado to explore, learn, and work toward implementing restorative and transformative practices to address sexual violence. CCASA hosts monthly learning communities, provides technical assistance, develops new curriculum, and serves as a hub in Colorado for agencies and practitioners seeking to innovatively develop and work toward creating community specific restorative options, and adopt transformative philosophies statewide.

Join Us In Community!

Learning Community

This Learning Community is for those who work in harm response, harm reduction, advocacy, justice, law, education, and more. Especially those who work directly in gender-based and sexual violence. The purpose of the group is to further individual and collective knowledge of restorative justice and transformative justice practices and their applicability to our field, by sharing resources, ideas, and challenges while building new skills and exploring avenues for applying RJ and TJ in support of survivors. Meetings are held each month on the 3rd Wednesday at 1pm.

Would you like to present your work or perspective in our Learning Community? Contact Us! We would love to talk about hosting you and your knowledge in this space.

Community of Practice

Our semi-regular Community of Practice for Colorado professionals who work in the realms of harm response, reduction, advocacy, justice, law, education, and more. Especially those who work directly in gender-based and sexual violence. Join our listserv for updates, and contact us to connect with CCASA to identify the best community of practice for you!

Advisory/Steering Committee

Join our group of CCASA members and community organizers who coordinate plans for ongoing projects, plan for and integrate feedback from community members and groups, continue to grow the various circles of participation, develop, review, feedback, and approve training materials, and annually facilitate the Learning Community, Community of Practice, and Annual Summit.

Restorative & Transformative Practices Primer for Advocates

Introductory Training

This free introductory training is designed for advocates who want to learn what restorative and transformative practices and options can bring to survivors of gender-based and sexual violence and their communities. This training is designed to provide an overview to understand the basic principles, values, and processes of restorative practices. Participants will come away with a thorough introduction to the history of restorative practices in the field, and how the language, skills, and processes fit alongside advocacy. Our hope is that this knowledge will facilitate increased collaboration between advocates and restorative and transformative practitioners, which can elevate caring climates based on respect, responsibility, and repair of harm.

With Appreciation & Acknowledgement

This course was a labor of love borne of community and connection. It was imagined, written, drafted, and reviewed by a team of folks with various beliefs, backgrounds, abilities, ages, racial and ethnic identities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
We offer thanks and gratitude to a few groups of folks without whom this would not be possible, and who helped to lay the foundation for the work we continue to do together today.

  • Our Indigenous Teachers and Trainers
  • Our CCASA current and former advocates who made this work possible
  • Our course writers, contributors, reviewers, and editors
  • Our Restorative & Transformative Justice Steering Committee
