Position Summary
The Advocacy and Outreach Services Manager oversees all advocacy services for survivors of sexual assault in Northern Colorado. This role manages the Advocacy team, program interns, and volunteer victim advocates. The Advocacy and Outreach Services Manager cultivates partnerships and leads outreach efforts to raise awareness, strengthen community connections, and advance SAVA’s mission. This position also collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer on program funding and reporting to meet grant and funder requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Advocacy:
-Provide direct crisis intervention, legal and medical advocacy, resource mapping, and safety planning via telephone or face-to-face for victims of sexual violence and their families.
-Participate in evening and weekend on-call support, which can include answering the 24-hour hotline and medical or legal accompaniment.
-Provide after-hours support to on-call staff and hotline volunteers.
-Offer advocacy support at hospitals, police stations, courthouses, and incarceration facilities as needed.
-Conduct client evaluations and track outcome measurements.
-Collect and enter statistical data on service provision.
Outreach:
-Build community relationships and cultivate opportunities for outreach presentations, booths, etc. in order to increase community understanding and awareness of sexual violence.
-Facilitate community trainings for outside organizations.
-Collect and enter statistical data on scope of community outreach and prepare reports; maintain records on outreach activities
Administrative:
-Oversee and supervise staff victim advocates.
-Onboarding new team members.
-Participate in organizational leadership meetings, activities, etc.
-Work with the Chief Executive Officer on program reports and grant applications to secure funding and comply with funder requirements.
-Represent SAVA to the community.
-Other Related Duties:
-Complete 40-Hour Hotline Training.
-Attend staff meetings regularly.
-Participate in SAVA-related events.
-Assist with answering phones, processing mail, and general office duties as needed.
-Assist with fundraising efforts, including collecting donations for events.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, women’s studies, education, or other related field.
-Previous supervisory experience.
-Strong knowledge and understanding of sexual violence, advocacy, and crisis intervention strategies.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
-Reliable transportation and ability to commute throughout Northern Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with grant reporting and writing.
-Experience with public speaking.
-Fluency in speaking and writing in Spanish.
