Rights in Action: Elevating Advocacy Under the VRA
Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center
Webinar
Victims of crime in criminal cases have specific rights under the Colorado Victim Rights Act (VRA), which is both Constitutional and statutory law in Colorado. In this webinar, a brief overview of the VRA will be provided, which will include updated information related to legislative changes made to the VRA in 2024. The training will then focus on how to advocate for meaningful access to VRA rights, and, for attorneys, how the right to be heard provides opportunities for VRA litigation in Colorado. The goal of this training is to take the VRA beyond a checklist, and turn it in to practical tips about how to help victims ensure their rights are upheld and enforced throughout the criminal legal process.
