Food Resources during Federal Shutdown
The federal government shutdown is now entering the second month, already the second longest in U.S. history. Uncertainty about funding for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits this month has left over 600,000 Coloradans unsure about critical food assistance.
The program, which is the nation’s largest source of food assistance for low-income families and individuals, serves 1 in 8 Americans and is central to our country’s food security.
