If folks have colds, history respiratory illnesses, compromised immune systems, or other health issues, they may not be the best candidate for providing accompaniment to the hospital. It makes sense to take precautions. to discuss includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is the hospital restricting access to \u00abnon-essential\u00bb visitors, and <\/span><b>what does that mean for advocates responding to the hospital<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Has <\/span><b>the advocacy program modified their services in any way<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (e.g. telephone services only?)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If an advocate is unable to provide in-person hospital response, <\/span><b>coordinate with about how they might be available to the survivor by phone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a survivor has an opportunity to speak with an advocate by phone, please ensure the survivor is able to talk with the advocate in a private location at the hospital that promotes confidentiality.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take guidance directly from local health officials.\u00a0 However, if needed, please advocate on behalf of survivors that medical care following sexual violence is to be considered a medical emergency and not an elective procedure.\u00a0 We all must be creative and flexible so that access to patient care is not compromised or delayed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Other Resources<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International
